Rope access or scaffolding: choosing the right method
Both methods are useful. The right one depends on duration, task type, geometry and what is happening around the building.
Where rope access excels
Short-duration, targeted work across tall or irregular façades can often be reached with less setup and a smaller ground footprint.
Where scaffolding can be better
Long programmes, heavy material handling or broad areas that need continuous platform access may justify a scaffold system.
Consider the whole site
Access above and below the work matters. Public protection, roof anchors, building operations and neighbouring properties can decide the method before height does.
Decide from the task
Choose access after defining the work—not the other way around. A site review should connect the finish required with the safest practical way to reach it.
