How often should high-rise windows be cleaned?

There is no single schedule for every building. Exposure and use matter more than height alone.

Location and exposure

Traffic, construction dust, coastal air, trees and prevailing weather can all change how quickly glass loses clarity.

Building use

Retail, hospitality and premium offices often need a shorter cycle at high-visibility areas, while upper floors may follow a different schedule.

Glass and façade condition

Mineral deposits, failed seals and damaged coatings are not routine dirt. Early inspection helps separate cleaning needs from remedial work.

A practical approach

Start with an initial clean and condition review. The result gives property teams a useful baseline for a site-specific maintenance cycle.

Safety guidance: IRATA International Code of Practice.
